DESCRIPTION:The Athchogain De\nAt 6:00 p.m. on the Second Sunday of each month\, East Redland Anglican offers “The Athchogain De Service”. The Athchogain De is a time of meditation and contemplation based on the Celtic spiritual tradition. This will be a non-eucharistic service which combines meditative silence\, the simplicity of utterance\, and a place where we can “ruminate” on the word of God as a part of the lives of the Celtic Saints. \nThe Athchogain De Service will draw from the liturgical traditions of Lindisfarne and Northumbria\, and the music at these services is contemplative\, lively and haunting. The prayers are at once earthy\, holy and inclusive. All are welcome at this service. \nPlease do not worry about “doing it right.” The important thing is simply that you know that God welcomes you\, and there is no telling how God might reach you.  Just be open to the possibility of encounter God in the silence.

DESCRIPTION:The Athchogain De\nAt 6:00 p.m. on the Second Sunday of each month\, East Redland Anglican offers “The Athchogain De Service”. The Athchogain De is a time of meditation and contemplation based on the Celtic spiritual tradition. This will be a non-eucharistic service which combines meditative silence\, the simplicity of utterance\, and a place where we can “ruminate” on the word of God as a part of the lives of the Celtic Saints. \nThe Athchogain De Service will draw from the liturgical traditions of Lindisfarne and Northumbria\, and the music at these services is contemplative\, lively and haunting. The prayers are at once earthy\, holy and inclusive. All are welcome at this service. \nPlease do not worry about “doing it right.” The important thing is simply that you know that God welcomes you\, and there is no telling how God might reach you.  Just be open to the possibility of encounter God in the silence.

We will be showing the movie\, “Walking the Camino: Six Ways to Santiago” as we start to delve more deeply into the idea of pilgrimage and what that means as we journey forward together. \nWalking the Camino: Six Ways to Santiago is a 2013 documentary film about the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage. It follows different kinds of pilgrims as they attempt to cross Spain on foot with only the essentials and how it changes the lives of the pilgrims. It focuses on how pilgrims throw their whole selves into the trek to Santiago as well as their spiritual experience.

DESCRIPTION:All Welcome to our Movie Night on 27 July 2024. We will be showing the movie\, “The Way” as we start to delve more deeply into the idea of pilgrimage and what that means as we journey forward together. \n“The Way” is about Tom\, an American doctor who goes to France following the death of his adult son\, killed in the Pyrenees during a storm while walking The Camino de Santiago\, also known as The Way of St. James. Tom’s purpose is initially to retrieve his son’s body. However\, in a combination of grief and homage to his son\, Tom decides to journey on this path of pilgrims. While walking the Camino\, Tom meets others from around the world (three in particular)\, all broken and looking for greater meaning in their lives. Along the way\, Tom discovers the meaning of one of the last things his son said (in a flashback) to his father. There is a difference between “the life we live and the life we choose.”
